Salons Unlimited Magazine Celebrates Three Years! By Lorraine Cochran
In February 2010, Salons Unlimited Magazine proudly celebrates its third year in the professional beauty industry. Salons Unlimited made its debut in February 2007 and was filled with more than 90 pages of advertisements featuring diverse professional products and business, marketing and beauty-related editorial that was unparalleled in the professional beauty magazine industry. Armed with a fresh, new concept geared toward focusing on the business of beauty, Salons Unlimited was dedicated to providing content that embraced a multiethnic audience and sought to enhance the lives of professional stylists by providing them with the tools and editorial they needed to carry their business and professional careers to the next level. Today, Salons Unlimited remains even more focused on helping stylists develop strategies for coping with changing economic times and remaining on the cutting edge of the industry by presenting business and marketing content that educates stylists on how to not only survive but strive in tough economic times. With a team of dedicated writers who range from corporate executives to professional stylists with backgrounds in business and economics, Salons Unlimited works hard with each issue to raise the bar in the beauty industry. Realizing the importance of classroom instruction on the development of professional stylists, Salons Unlimited not only seeks to educate stylists through its publication but is also dedicated to providing educational workshops and seminars that offer the hands-on experience many professional stylists desire to remain at the top of their profession. Since its creation, Salons Unlimited has hosted a variety of workshops from specialized training on weaving techniques to its recent SU Educational Series, which provided hands-on educational training on cutting, color, business and ionic fusion techniques designed to foster healthy styling alternatives for natural hair. With its initial circulation in the State of Georgia, by the second issue, Salons Unlimited Magazine had expanded its presence to 6 states in the southeastern region and more than doubled its initial distribution. Currently Salons Unlimited is proud to have distribution in 31 major cities across the United States and attends trade shows across the US to introduce professional stylists to the brand. In addition, to better position itself in an increasingly global beauty marketplace, Salons Unlimited has expanded its initial Web site presence to include a wider variety of online editorial content and has plans in the future to develop an even greater Web presence that will make the magazine a fully functional, live publication featuring a social networking marketplace for professional stylists with 100 percent of its content, advertisement and editorial present online. As Salons Unlimited enters a new era in its quest to meet the needs of professional stylists, we are proud to serve our readers and advertisers. As our magazine changes to offer the content that our audience demands, we seek to constantly examine ourselves as a product to guarantee that we continue to provide the editorial content, educational offerings and social networking tools our readers have come to expect, and we at Salons Unlimited welcome the opportunity to support, encourage and educate you—our readers.
